Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups (Late August) Yash’s massive pan-India gangster saga is being called the single biggest highlight of the month.
Shot simultaneously in Kannada and English with dubbed Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam versions, it also stars Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi and Tara Sutaria, carrying a reported budget of around Rs 800 crore after a long, repeatedly delayed path to release.
I’m Game (August 20, Malayalam) Dulquer Salmaan produces and stars in this gangster action thriller under his Wayfarer Films banner, timed to Onam and releasing across Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi versions.
The Paradise (Telugu, if it holds its date) Nani’s big-scale Telugu release is expected to be another major draw for the month, assuming it doesn’t shift from its planned window.
Biographical Dramas
Prahaar – The Ujjwal Nikam Story (August 7) Rajkummar Rao leads this legal biographical drama tracing the career of public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam through several of India’s most significant criminal cases.
Eetha (August 28) Shraddha Kapoor stars in this biographical drama on Vithabai Narayangaonkar, the celebrated Marathi Lavani performer, directed by Laxman Utekar.
Biographical dramas have been consistent box office winners in India recently, though both Prahaar and Eetha will lean heavily on word-of-mouth to sustain their runs.

Ohh My Dog and Batwara 1947 Trade voices are already floating both as potential successors to word-of-mouth hits like Main Vaapas Aaunga and 12th Fail.
Batwara 1947, led by Sunny Deol and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, is being positioned as a film that blends genuine content with commercial mass appeal, given Deol’s box office pull, and releases over the Independence Day weekend around August 13-14.
Anticipated Sequels
Awarapan 2 and Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 Both original films still hold cult status among Indian audiences, and their sequels are seen as having a strong shot at connecting with that built-in fanbase.
Awarapan 2 releases August 14 alongside Bhediya 2, while Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 lands August 28.

Insidious: Out of the Further The long-running supernatural horror franchise has a genuine fanbase in India, and this instalment is expected to perform well off that built-in audience.
The End of Oak Street Anne Hathaway headlines this title, which trade voices are backing to click with audiences given its plot and genre appeal.
Mutiny Jason Statham’s latest is expected to draw the action-genre crowd that’s reliably shown up for his films in India before.
Both Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey also carry strong momentum into August from their July releases.
