Ahead of its theatrical release this week, Chand Mera Dil, starring Lakshya and Ananya Panday, has landed in the spotlight after undergoing major cuts by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The romantic drama has already created buzz thanks to its popular title track, chemistry between the lead pair, intriguing trailer, and the growing popularity of intense love stories at the box office.
Now, fresh reports suggest the film faced significant censor modifications during certification.
Chand Mera Dil Censored: CBFC Removes 96 Seconds of Kissing Scenes
According to reports, the CBFC granted Chand Mera Dil a U/A 16+ certificate, but only after asking the makers to implement specific changes.
The certification board reportedly instructed the team to remove 10 seconds of kissing visuals and replace them with suitable alternative shots.
Additionally, lip-lock kissing visuals lasting 1 minute and 26 seconds were also ordered to be deleted.
In total, the board reportedly censored 96 seconds or 1 minute and 36 seconds of kissing scenes from the film.
Apart from these modifications, the makers were also reportedly asked to submit consent letters for all child artists appearing in the movie.
Film Runtime and Certification Details
After the required edits were completed, Chand Mera Dil officially received its censor certificate on May 8.
As per the certification details, the film has a runtime of 135.36 minutes, which translates to 2 hours, 15 minutes, and 36 seconds.
The censor changes have already sparked curiosity among moviegoers, especially considering the film’s romantic genre and the chemistry showcased between Lakshya and Ananya Panday in promotional material.
Advance Booking and Budget-Friendly Ticket Pricing
The makers are expected to open advance bookings from Monday, May 18, giving fans a chance to secure tickets before release.
Directed by Vivek Soni, known for films like Meenakshi Sundareshwar (2021) and Aap Jaisa Koi (2025), the film is backed by a strong production team.
Chand Mera Dil is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, and Marijke deSouza.
Interestingly, reports also suggest that on its release day, May 22, movie tickets for all shows before 5:00 PM will reportedly be priced at Rs 149, while evening shows after 5:00 PM may cost Rs 199.
Strong Buzz Ahead of Release
Despite the censor changes, Chand Mera Dil continues to generate excitement among audiences.
With Lakshya and Ananya Panday’s fresh pairing, strong music buzz, and an emotional romance-driven narrative, the film is expected to attract young audiences when it hits theatres this week.
