1. Ram Setu:
Not much is known about the genre of the film but according to some reports, the film is a fantasy adventure drama based on the backdrop of Ram Setu. The film features Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez and Nusrat Bharucha in lead roles. The movie is all set to release it n Diwali 2022. Meanwhile, Karthikeya 2 is also a fantasy adventure drama which has mythology as a backdrop. Also, Karthikeya 2 film succeded at Box Office and Ram Setu can also be a hit
2. Adipurush:
This is a monumental film based on the Ramayana epic. It features Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Sunny Singh in the lead roles. The film is directed by Om Raut of Tanhaji fame. The budget of the film is around ₹500 Crores! The film is all set to release in January 2023.
3. Ashwatthama:
This film was announced way back with Vicky Kaushal in the lead. Ashwatthama is a mythological superhero film. The flick was to be directed by Aditya Dhar of Uri: The Surgical Strike fame. But, due to some budget constraints, the film is on hold and Vicky has moved on to another project. Also, Sara Ali Khan is the lead actress in the film. Let’s hope the film will start soon!
4. Sita:
This film is based on the life of Goddess Sita from the Ramayana epic. Kangana Ranaut will be the lead actress in this film. The film is written by KV Vijendra Prasad of RRR fame.
5. Shaktimaan:
Mukesh Khanna’s Shaktimaan will be seen on the big screen. The film’s announcement is done a few months back and it’s in the pre-production stages. Also, Shaktimaan is a superhero who has roots in Indian mythology. According to some reports, Ranveer Singh has been approached for the film. Also, Ranveer has liked the script as per some reports.
Upcoming Mythological Fantasy Films:
Meanwhile, the budgets of these above films will be more than Rs. 100 Crores. Also, it will be interesting to see whether the films will be hit or not at BO. Likewise, given the mood of the audiences these days, only big-budget spectacles are loved. So, it can be quite a good sign that these movies will be hit at BO.
