- Housefull 5A Ending In a Nutshell:
The much-hyped fifth installment of the Housefull franchise has finally hit the big screens—and let’s be honest, Housefull 5 is not your typical comedy caper.
Released on June 6, 2025, the film packs a wild combo of laughs, chaos, and an unexpected twist—murder.
With Housefull 5 releasing in two versions (yes, you read that right!), fans are scratching their heads trying to decode the plot, especially the version labeled Housefull 5A.
So if you’ve watched it and left the theatre wondering “Wait, who killed whom and why?” — this deep dive is just for you.
The Plot Begins with a Death—But Not the One You Think
The film kicks off with billionaire Ranjeet Dobriyal, played by a veteran actor, celebrating his upcoming 100th birthday.
But before the party starts, he dies—of natural causes. His stepson Dev (played by Fardeen Khan) decides to keep his death a secret.
Why? Because he wants the grand birthday celebration to go on—oh, and probably to secure his grip on the empire worth a whopping 69 billion pounds.
Seems odd? Well, that’s just the beginning.
Enter the Hologram and the Real Chaos Begins
Ranjeet may be dead, but his plans live on—literally. A pre-recorded hologram message reveals that his massive fortune will go to his first biological son from his first marriage—someone named Jolly. And just like that, the inheritance war begins.

Soon, we meet three “Jollys”:
Jolly 1 – Jalabuddin, played by Riteish Deshmukh
Jolly 2 – Jalbhushan, played by Abhishek Bachchan
Jolly 3 – Julius, played by Akshay Kumar
All three know they’re not Ranjeet’s real son—but hey, when billions are on the table, why not fake it till you make it?
Dev’s Game Plan: The DNA Twist
With all three Jollys onboard a luxury cruise, Dev comes up with a sinister plan—a DNA test to determine the rightful heir.
But there’s a catch. Since all three Jollys are impostors, they secretly know they’ll fail the test.
So while they scheme to outwit one another, Dev decides to tamper with the DNA results. He sneaks into the medical lab at night to swap samples.
But the ship’s doctor catches him red-handed. What happens next spirals into chaos.
The Murder That Changes Everything
In a moment of desperation, Dev tries to silence the doctor by stuffing peanut butter biscuits into his mouth, knowing he’s allergic.
But Jolly 3 (Akshay Kumar) steps in just in time and saves the doctor using an anti-allergy injection.
Crisis averted? Not really.
When Jolly 3 leaves the scene, Dev takes the opportunity to stab the doctor to death.
And guess who sees it all? Captain Sameer, played by Nikitin Dheer.
But instead of reporting it, Sameer keeps quiet. Why? Because he himself is under suspicion for another incident and doesn’t want to draw more heat.
Suspicion Falls on Everyone
The next morning, mayhem erupts.
The murder investigation kicks off, and everyone’s a suspect—including the Jollys and their glamorous partners played by Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, and Sonam Bajwa.
Enter expelled London cops Bhidu (Sanjay Dutt) and Baba (Jackie Shroff), who bring their quirky methods to the murder investigation.
From flirtatious assistants to eccentric sidekicks, the suspect list grows.
Even members of Ranjeet’s close circle—Maya (Chitrangada Singh), Lucy (Soundarya Sharma), Shiraz (Shreyas Talpade), Batuk Patel (Johnny Lever), and Bedi (Dino Morea)—fall under scrutiny.
In classic Housefull style, every scene is packed with over-the-top antics, mistaken identities, and hilarious one-liners.
The Twist Nobody Saw Coming
Just when you think it can’t get more chaotic, it does.
In the final act, it’s revealed that Dev not only murdered the doctor but also plans to kill Captain Sameer, who could expose him.
This time, he teams up with Jolly 2 to take out Sameer.
Why would Jolly 2 help? Because he, too, wants the inheritance and sees Dev as the lesser evil—or maybe he’s just caught up in the madness.
Eventually, through a dramatic reveal involving security footage, accidental confessions, and slapstick chases, Dev’s crimes come to light.
The murder mystery wraps up with a mix of comedy and confrontation that only Housefull can deliver.
Final Take: What Makes Housefull 5A Unique?
Unlike previous films in the franchise, Housefull 5A blends murder mystery with comedy—an experiment Bollywood hasn’t explored much.
But what really makes it stand out is the dual ending concept.
Yes, if you’re confused, there’s a Housefull 5B version too—with an entirely different ending and a different killer.
This creative twist is meant to lure audiences back to theatres for a second watch. Whether or not it works is up for debate, but it’s definitely a bold move.
Is It Worth Watching?
If you’re expecting logic and realism—this isn’t your movie.
But if you’re in the mood for a wild ride of confusion, color, and classic Housefull chaos, you’ll probably enjoy it.
The ensemble cast brings massive star power, Akshay Kumar is in his comic element, and the whodunit twist adds a layer of intrigue that keeps you guessing. Sure, not every joke lands, but that’s par for the course in a film like this.
Housefull 5A Ending In a Nutshell:
Housefull 5A delivers exactly what it promises—madness, mayhem, and murder, all wrapped in laughter.
Dev’s villainous turn and the cruise ship setting give this version a fresh edge, while the dual-ending concept might just become the next big Bollywood trend.
So, have you seen Housefull 5A yet?
Or are you waiting to watch Housefull 5B to solve the other mystery? Either way, buckle up—because this ship has no brakes!
