Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar is continuing its impressive run at the box office, earning praise for its intense storytelling and strong performances.

As the film wins over audiences, one particular song has emerged as a major fan favorite.

The track Shararat has caught attention for its slick visuals, energetic vibe, and standout choreography featuring Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souza.

While the song is now being widely appreciated, choreographer Vijay Ganguly has shared an interesting detail from its early planning stages.

Dhurandhar song Shararat almost featured Tamannaah Bhatia. Here’s why the makers chose a different creative direction instead.

Dhurandhar Song Shararat: Tamannaah Bhatia Was Considered!

In a recent interview, Vijay revealed that Tamannaah Bhatia was initially considered for Shararat, but the idea was eventually dropped by director Aditya Dhar for a very specific reason.

According to Vijay, Aditya was clear from the beginning that Dhurandhar should not include a typical item number that feels separate from the story.

He wanted the song to blend naturally into the narrative rather than stand out as a spectacle focused on a single star.

Vijay explained that casting Tamannaah would have instantly shifted attention away from the film’s plot.

“If Tamannaah was part of the song, the focus would automatically be on her instead of the story,” he shared.

This is why the makers chose to feature two performers instead of one.

By doing so, the song retained its visual appeal without overpowering the film’s narrative.

The intention was to support the story rather than interrupt it, something Aditya Dhar was reportedly firm about throughout the filmmaking process.

Vijay also pointed out that Dhurandhar is packed with layered storytelling and emotional intensity.

Adding a traditional item song could have felt distracting at a crucial moment in the film.

The director wanted Shararat to feel like a natural extension of the story instead of a sudden break meant only for glamour.

With Dhurandhar enjoying strong box office numbers and positive word of mouth, this behind-the-scenes revelation highlights how carefully thought-out creative decisions played a key role in the film’s success.

The choice to prioritize storytelling over star-driven moments appears to have paid off, striking the right balance between style and substance.
