Drishyam 3 has officially been confirmed, putting an end to months of speculation around the future of one of Hindi cinema’s most successful thriller franchises.
Ajay Devgn will once again step into the role of Vijay Salgaonkar, with the film scheduled for a theatrical release on October 2, 2026.
The third installment will be directed by Abhishek Pathak, who previously helmed Drishyam 2.

The makers have confirmed that the story will continue directly from where the second part ended, setting the stage for what is being described as the most intense chapter yet.
“The narrative moves forward without a time jump. The consequences of the past finally catch up,” a source close to the project revealed.
Joining Devgn are Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, Rajat Kapoor and Akshaye Khanna, all of whom reprise their roles.

Their return signals continuity in the cat-and-mouse game that has kept audiences invested since the first film.
Production has already begun at YRF Studios in Mumbai.
Tabu and Akshaye Khanna are currently shooting alongside Devgn for a tightly scheduled 10-day indoor shoot at YRF Studios in Mumbai.
“This schedule focuses on high-voltage confrontation scenes and key plot developments,” an insider shared.
The team plans to wrap up this phase before Christmas, followed by a short New Year break.
With its carefully timed release and a story driven by unresolved truths, Drishyam 3 is shaping up to be a decisive chapter in Vijay Salgaonkar’s gripping saga.
