Fans can finally celebrate as Farhan Akhtar in recent interview has confirmed that his long delayed film Jee Le Zaraa is back in motion after years of uncertainty.

First announced in 2021, the film instantly caught attention for uniting Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif in an all female road trip drama.

But due to constant scheduling clashes and rumours of cast changes, the film kept getting pushed until it seemed like it might never happen.

Farhan Akhtar Confirms Jee Le Zaraa: How the Dream Began

The idea for Jee Le Zaraa took shape back in 2019 when Priyanka Chopra shared her wish to return to Hindi cinema with something unique.

“Let’s rewind, to me musing about wanting to do another Hindi movie ASAP, on an unusually rainy night in Mumbai in Nov 2019. But it had to be the right one – different, cool, never been done before… I thought. The idea grew into a movie helmed by an all-female cast. There are not enough Hindi movies that are female multi-starters. This led to an impulsive phone call… to my 2 real friends about this idea that involved 3 on-screen girlfriends. A celebration of friendship we called it!!”

She spoke about wanting a story that was fresh and never seen before. That late night thought turned into the concept of an all woman led film about friendship.

One impulsive phone call to her real life friends Alia and Katrina set the project rolling. Although the trio was excited, their packed calendars made it difficult to align dates.

Farhan Opens Up About the Delays

Farhan recently revealed that he turned down multiple acting offers so he could stay focused on directing Jee Le Zaraa.

He admitted the delay caused him personal anxiety, but he refused to drop the film.

His comments initially worried fans who assumed the movie had been shelved.

But in a new interview, he confirmed that the dates have finally been locked and the team is ready to begin soon.

In an exclusive conversation with Deccan Chronicle Farhan Akhtar confirms, “To be honest, it was traumatic trying to get the actors’ dates. But we’ve sorted all that out. We’ll start soon.”

The Original Trio Remains

Despite years of speculation about new cast members replacing the leads, Farhan confirmed that Priyanka, Alia and Katrina are all still a part of the film.

The actors have all become mothers in the last few years, but their enthusiasm for the project remains unchanged.

Fans are thrilled to know the dream team will still headline the story of friendship, travel and rediscovery.

Jee Le Zaraa is officially back on the road and Bollywood viewers cannot wait for the next update.
