At a recent event, Union Home Minister Amit Shah engaged in a thought-provoking conversation with Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan, where topics of dharma and selflessness took center stage.
The highlight of the interaction came when Varun posed a compelling question: “What was the biggest difference between Lord Ram and Ravan?”
Amit Shah’s answer was rooted in the philosophy of dharma.
He explained that the key difference between Lord Ram and Ravan lay in their approach to duty and self-interest.
“For some, their actions are determined by their dharma, or sense of duty, while others mold their duties to suit their self-interests,” Shah elaborated.
He emphasized that Lord Ram lived a life of dharma, upholding values with selflessness, while Ravan shaped his duties to satisfy his desires and ego.
Varun Dhawan, quick to add to the discussion, remarked, “Ravan was arrogant about his knowledge, while Ram had knowledge about arrogance.”
Shah nodded in agreement, stating that understanding dharma allows one to act without arrogance or pride.
The conversation ended on an unexpected yet appreciative note as Varun praised Shah, calling him the “Hanuman of the country.”
Varun said, “People may refer to you as the Chanakya of politics, but I see you as Hanuman, serving the nation selflessly.”
He also lauded the minister for his articulate and clear responses, something even actors struggle to deliver.
The event showcased a rare mix of politics, philosophy, and admiration, leaving the audience intrigued and inspired.
