Bollywood’s Khiladi, Akshay Kumar, is all set to bring his cop persona back to the big screen in Milan Luthria’s upcoming action drama.

After completing his horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla with Priyadarshan by March 2025, Akshay will shift focus to Milan Luthria’s untitled project.

This collaboration marks their reunion after the 2013 film Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Dobaara.

Their second outing aims to capture the essence of mass entertainers while delving into a relevant social theme.

According to sources, the film’s screenplay, penned by Rajat Arora, is currently being polished.

Once finalized, Akshay will receive the full narration, and shooting is set to commence in April 2025.

The film is slated for release in the first half of 2026.

“This project is designed as a masala entertainer, featuring Akshay as a quirky, larger-than-life cop,” revealed an insider.

“The role has shades of his Rowdy Rathore character, blending humor and action.

At the same time, it addresses a significant social issue, which gives it depth beyond its entertainment value.

Akshay was captivated by the concept during its initial pitch and has already allotted time in April and May for filming.”
